General

What exactly is a search fund, and how is it different from private equity?

A search fund is an individual operator — backed by a small group of committed investors — who raises capital specifically to find, acquire and personally run a single company for the long term. Unlike a private equity firm managing a portfolio of businesses toward a resale, ORENDA is built around one acquisition and one operator who intends to lead it himself.

What industries does ORENDA focus on?

Primarily Finance/Regulatory and Health/Supplements — two fields where Thomas has direct operating experience — plus select opportunistic targets outside those fields where the business model and financial upside are independently compelling.

For Business Owners

Is my company too small, or too large, for ORENDA?

ORENDA is looking for one company in the EUR 2M–7M EBITDA range, typically EUR 15M–80M in revenue. If your company falls outside that range, it may still be worth a short conversation — Thomas can usually point you toward other search funds or advisors if there isn't a fit here.

Will my employees be affected by a sale?

Continuity comes first. The first hundred days after any transaction are spent understanding the business and building trust with the existing team, deliberately, before any structural changes are made.

Why sell to an individual operator instead of a strategic buyer or a private equity firm?

A strategic buyer often folds a company into a larger organization, and private equity firms typically plan a resale within a few years as part of a fund cycle. ORENDA is built around a 4–6 year hold from day one, with Thomas personally running the business day-to-day himself.

How long does the process typically take?

Every situation is different, but it usually starts with a short, confidential call. If there's a mutual fit, that's followed by a deeper, unhurried look at the business together, on your timeline, without a fixed script or hard deadline.

Will this stay confidential?

Yes. Conversations start confidentially, under NDA if you prefer, and stay that way for as long as you need — including with your own team, until you decide otherwise.

I'm not ready to sell. Can I still talk to Thomas?

Yes. Some of the most useful conversations happen years before an actual transaction. An introductory call carries no obligation, and there's real value in establishing the relationship early — so ORENDA is already a known, trusted option when the time is right.

For Investors

Is ORENDA's capital already in place?

Yes. ORENDA is backed by EUR 520,000 in committed search capital, raised specifically to fund this search and the resulting acquisition — so when the right company is found, the process isn't held up waiting on financing to be arranged from scratch.

I'm interested as an investor, not a business owner. Where do I go?

The For Investors page covers the case in brief; full deal terms and economics are shared directly with qualified investors alongside the Private Placement Memorandum.
